NTMWD Recognizes MVP Students with Chance to Win Tickets to Rough Riders Games

May 20, 2022

North Texas Municipal Water District Education and Outreach staff were on hand for the Frisco RoughRiders vs. Corpus Christi Hooks on Wednesday, May 18, as sponsors for the RoughRiders Student MVP program. This is the third year for NTMWD to help recognize students who live in the NTMWD service area cities with the chance to win free tickets to home games for their families through a nomination process by their teachers. Participating schools set the criteria for students to earn or win the MVP designation, and the children are provided with certificates and tickets to one of the select RoughRiders games.

NTMWD also sponsors a playground area throughout the baseball season for all kids in attendance at the games and passes out important water conservation messages at table near the entrance. All Student MVPs received RoughRiders branded bags, pennants, and other items as the students and their families arrived early to take advantage of the pre-game access to the ballpark and playground area.

About 75 game attendees stopped by our table to learn about WaterMyYard.org, toilet leak detection, and Lavon Lake as their primary water supply. Otis the Otter was on hand to visit with kids and hand out water conservation message clings, Otis trading cards provided by the Rough Riders, and offer fun photo ops on the playground.
