Regional Service Through Unity...Meeting our Region's Needs Today and Tomorrow

News Stream – October 2020

October 2, 2020

The October News Stream highlights numerous ways NTMWD values stewardship, conservation and education – beginning with a milestone anniversary for the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center which celebrates ten years of the same with their annual Wings Over the Wetland special event. Attendees can participate and enjoy all of the festivities live at the wetlands or virtually from their own homes.

In advance of Energy Efficiency Day on Oct. 7, we give you an in-depth look at ways we manage the massive amount of energy needed to operate essential services for nearly two million North Texans as well as keep costs consistent and low. We show you how the District approved the FY21 budget with no increase to the wholesale water rate, conducts training for emergency readiness and performs detailed analyses, inspections and surveys to ensure reliability of our wastewater infrastructure.

Plus, lawn and landscape tips for cooler temps, industry resources, virtual events and more.
